Water purification is the removal of contaminants from raw or unsafe water to produce water that is pure enough for human consumption, recreational or industrial use. Substances that are typically removed during the water purification can include parasites (such as Giardia or Cryptosporidium) , bacteria, algae, viruses, fungi and in extreme cases heavy minerals and chemical pollutants.
Puresan, originally developed in South Africa in 1995, is an easy to use, low-tech, low cost and environmentally safe solution to assure water is safe to use and enjoy. Puresan is a complex, ionic solution containing copper, zinc, aluminium and silver. These natural, positively charged mineral ions cause two things to happen.
First, they break down the DNA structure and cell walls of the algae, bacteria and viruses, destroying them. Second, after being positively charged, particles in the water are attracted to each other (floc together) to create larger particles that are more easily trapped by filtration systems.
Puresan has applications in swimming pools, decorative ponds, sewage treatment plants, spas, bulk water treatment, livestock and agriculture. It replaces chlorine, a known toxic chemical, with a 100% environmentally safe alternative to purify water.
